Abidjan, the largest city in Ivory Coast, is a vibrant coastal hub known for its striking skyline, lively markets, and cultural energy. Situated along the Ébrié Lagoon, it serves as the country’s economic and commercial center, blending modern urban life with West African traditions. Nicknamed the “Paris of West Africa,” Abidjan offers a dynamic mix of business districts, beachside neighborhoods, and green spaces that reflect its diverse character.

The Plateau district, often compared to a miniature Manhattan, is the city’s commercial heart, filled with glass towers, government buildings, and chic cafés. Landmarks like St. Paul’s Cathedral, designed by Italian architect Aldo Spirito, stand out for their bold, modernist style. In contrast, the Treichville and Adjame districts pulse with the rhythm of everyday life, where visitors can explore bustling open-air markets, sample street food, and experience local music.

Nature is never far away in Abidjan. Banco National Park, a protected rainforest within city limits, offers trails shaded by towering tropical trees and the chance to spot rare bird species. Beachfront areas like Port Bouët and Vridi Plage provide a relaxing escape, with opportunities to enjoy fresh seafood while watching the Atlantic waves.
